The Bradley Flag:
The 15 stars, 15 stripes American flag from 1795 to 1818 was originally
conceived and championed by Stephen Rowe Bradley Sr. Born in Cheshire, Connecticut
in 1754, he served as colonel with Ethan Allen`s "Green Mountain Boys", rose to
general, and then was elected first senator from new state of Vermont for 3
terms. The flag flew over Fort McHenry off Baltimore, Maryland, servived the British

bombardment of 1814, and was the inspiration for Francis Scot Key`s 4
verses known as The Star Spangled Banner, set to an old drinking song. The
original 30 by 42 foot flag has been restored and today hangs in the Smithsonian
Institute, Washington, DC for public viewing.

The Stephen Rowe Bradley Sr. Park Plaque:
Commemorates land in Rockland County New York donated and sold for passive park purposes - in perpetuity - by the Bradley family over 3 generations.
A testament to the commitment of the Bradley family and most recently, Mary Bradley Blake's contribution to that legacy. Under constant threat from development
and political expendiency, this untouched natural heritage will require vigilant stewardship. Protect it, or loose it.
